Subjectively i love it, objectively it has a lot of issues. If you can get past the bugs, it's lovely. The whole experience is pretty much exactly what I wanted a SU game to look and play like. Its world is fun to explore, with lots of hidden secrets and little puzzles and platforming moments. The combat system combines elements of paper mario with chrono trigger, keeping you on your toes despite being a turn-based game and differentiating the large cast of characters enough that every arrangement I use feels very distinct.
It captures all the charm of the show and intertwines it with gameplay that's incredibly dynamic and fun. Getting past those, however, is a super enjoyable experience. Also, the studio has mentioned they're working on a patch for the bugs. These are pretty major issues, no lie! but the game saves your progress very frequently, so I never lost more than maybe 5 minutes worth of progress. Sometimes movement becomes impeded with no reason, and sometimes the game mostly freezes and needs to be rebooted. The game DOES have a large number of bugs.
If you like the show, I strongly recommend Save the Light. The game This game is a fantastic adaptation of Steven Universe into game form. This game is a fantastic adaptation of Steven Universe into game form.
